The Winona Lake Police Department periodically accepts applications for Police Officers and Reserve Police Officers. When applications are available announcements will be posted on this web site and local newspapers.

Qualifications for Police Officer Applicants

Applicants must:

• Be a U.S. citizen
• Be over 21 years of age
• Possess a high school diploma
• Be an Indiana resident
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Have no criminal record

• Oral Interviews
• Background Investigation
• Polygraph Examination

Benefits

• Police Officers receive five vacation days after the first year of service increasing at to ten days after two years.
• Officers are eligible for longevity pay at 2% after the 5th year of service and increases of 2% for every 5 years thereafter to a maximum of 10% of their base salary
• Choice of Medical, Dental and Prescription Plans
• All initial issue uniforms and equipment provided by the Police Department
• Annual uniform maintenance and clothing allowance
