Trash and Recycling
For the trash and recycling pickup schedule you can also see the Town Calendar. The following schedule would be exceptions to this:
- Fourth of July - Thursday's will be picked up on Friday, July 7
- Labor Day - Thursday's will be picked up on Friday, September 8
- Thanksgiving Day - Thursday's will be picked up on Friday, November 24
- Christmas Day - Thursday's will be picked up on Friday, December 29
Beginning the week of September 13, 2021, all residents will have their trash and recycling collected on Thursday. Trash will be picked up weekly and recycling will be collected every other week.
Those residents that had their recycling picked up on Tuesday previously will have theirs picked up on Thursday, 9/16, and every other Thursday thereafter.
The recycling schedule will remain the same for those residents that have had their recycling picked up every other Thursday (9/9, 9/23. 10/7, etc.).

If you would like a trash and/or recycling container call the Town Hall at 574-267-7581 from from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., weekdays.

Yard Waste - For Winona Lake residents, yard waste is usually picked up every Monday and continues on Tuesday, if necessary. Yard waste is to be placed in "biodegradable bags." The bags can be obtained at Menards, Lowe's and other retail outlets. The purchase of bags will be the resident's responsibility.
Leaves will still be picked for a brief period in the Spring and for the Fall leaf season by the leaf vacuum truck. The bags are to be utilized outside the times that the leaf vacum truck is in service.
